We exist to connect students, innovators, and community members to economic and educational growth through programming, rentable spaces, and membership opportunities in the renovated SMART Center in downtown Greenville, Illinois.
Our Story:
Greenville University and the City of Greenville joined forces to create a robust, entrepreneur-friendly partnership to benefit students, community members, and business leaders. This partnership helps sustain and grow existing businesses and encourages the creation and growth of new enterprises.
The SMART Center is all about collaboration, connection, and community. We desire to offer a place for entrepreneurs to thrive, businesses to seek success, and patrons to revitalize and positively impact our community. Founded in 1815, Greenville boasts a history of ingenuity fueled by an enterprising spirit. Today Greenville is known for agri-entrepreneurs, a quaint town square, and the manufacturing of specialty goods like band uniforms, scoreboards, and artisan dairy products. Community. The SMART Center
1st Floor: Frida’s Tacos (coming January 2027)
Frida’s Tacos offers a flavorful mix of classic Mexican favorites, including street tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and specialty dishes such as loaded Mexican fries and the Sol Shoe. Known for generous portions, friendly service, and a casual, welcoming atmosphere, it has become a popular dining destination in Southern Illinois.
2nd Floor: Rentable Office & Podcasting Space
A professional and flexible environment for individuals, teams, and organizations needing dedicated workspace. The space is ideal for meetings, collaborative work, temporary office needs, or businesses looking for a convenient professional setting in downtown Greenville.
3rd Floor: Test Kitchen and Conference Space
A versatile space designed for meetings, presentations, receptions, workshops, and community gatherings. The adjoining demonstration kitchen makes the space especially well-suited for culinary demonstrations, food-focused events, educational programs, and other interactive experiences.
